September Moving

It's not at all new, or terribly bright. But as the meandering night breeze rustles the memories and emotions, I'm reminded afresh:

Obedience starts.

Not only here, or then, or any philosophical event of conjecture.

It just starts.

It's an action, a motion, a movement into the death of ourselves that simultaneously defibrillates us into His life.

Oh that my heart, and the heart of the church would remember, and remind yet again, to follow!

David, in his magnum opus to the role of Scripture as relationship between man and God, said:

"I shall run the way of Your commandments,
for You will enlarge my heart."
Psalm 119: 32

This verse showed up in a post from January, in fact I've been quite enamored with it for some time. Because I just can't get over the reason for running. The impetus for moving:

You
(God of everything who is by no standard indebted or obliged to us creatures)
will
(not even a shred of doubt or room for other possible outcomes or choices)
(en: to make or put in + large: bountiful, great in expanse, generous)
my heart
(organ that keeps us nourished with life-blood + metaphorical seat of all a human's emotions and thoughts)

At the end we have very good reason to trust Him who demands obedience, at the beginning.
